That is so awesome you are using your mom's dress. It looks lovely.
Are you just amazed at how tiny framed the women were back then.My mom and I are almost the same height and next to her my ribcage and arms look like a football player.LOL

hahaha "bullet boob" that cracked me up.
i too am envious of a 19 inch waist. was your mom the original barbie? why is she worried? it looks great! they only thing i would change is to put a white ribbon lacing it up for more contrast. i dunno if it's as shiny in real life as it is in the picture, but it's kinda hard to see it laced up, and that's my fave part of a corset.
she did a lovely job

that is so lovely - really inspired! My mum's beautiful classic dress got ruined when she took it to the cleaners after her wedding so I never got to wear it Sad I am 3 sizes bigger than her though. It was a very similar style to your mums one (she was married 1961). All the best for the wedding!

Lovely gown, and the best part is you get to wear the same one as your Mom. What a great start to your own marriage! Smiley

I hope my daughter will one day want to wear my gown.

Your mom rocks!

Not only was she able to do the sewing mechanics necessary to transform her old dress into something brand new and 21st century stylin', but she had the emotional strength and balance to sacrifice a landmark of her past for your benefit.

Yep! Definitely a hero!
