My best friend is one of the few people I know that can pull off a beret and make it look GOOD. Well, she's going to Europe for the summer so of course I had to make her one.  Smiley 2 balls of the most expensive yarn that I have ever bought later...

Kinda looks like a slouchy hat on me. haha. Thankfully my friend has a TON of semi-curly hair that I think it'll compliment very well.

Sitting on my floor.

It's really BIG. I hope it isn't too big for her liking.

The pattern was 'beret' (ooo, clever name) from the book, 'Greetings from Knit Cafe. I used size 4 dpn needles. (I dislike circs...) I suggest this book. Very nice patterns, there was a typo in this pattern though...
The yarn is Misti Alpaca, 80% Baby Suri Alpaca and 20% Silk in color #100.  Shocked Feels AWESOME. Really slippery though.

this is amazingly cute!
I'm sure your friend will love it. I totally would. Even if it was big.

She'll grow into it at the very least.

good work!

Slouchy hats totally rule, I'm wearing one now that I got for $5. Vintage, hand-made, about a million different shades of pink and heather and grey, PERFECT.
I like yours a lot too - and your curly-haired companion will be glad to have it.

If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.
