Makeup bag made entirely from plastic bag fabric....not hideous!

I made this bag.  It was a LOT of fun to sew.  It was incredibly easy fabric to work with.  I thought it would make a nice makeup case because it can be wiped out with a damp cloth to clean it.

the flower was attatched with hot glue, the rest was sewn on my machine.  I used an overlock stitch to make the edges look neat.  there is velcro to close it.  im really happy with how it turned out.  i am going to try to make a messenger bag next.

very cool.  how srtong is the fabric?  i've been crocheting shopping bags from shopping bags but would love a different take on it.  I'm seeing a lot of water resistant bike gear in my future (here in the pacific northwest everything is about the rain.)

Your bag looks fantastic! Thanks for the tutorial as well. I may try out this 'fabric' to make a lunchbag instead of the usual oilcloth! Great way to recycle aswell!

It is fairly strong!

I could not tear it with my hands.  i can poke a hole in it with a scissor though.

as long as you are not holding sharp objects, im sure its fine to use to make anything really
