I just made a cloche using your pattern and it was the easiest and fastest hat I've ever made! Thanks so much for sharing!

Dude. I just finished one of those and I put all of these flowers, sequins, buttons, and beads on it. I thought it was reeeeally pretty, but then I went somewhere with my mom and my dog got a hold of it and totally destroyed it. Today was a really sad day.  Cry But I once I get pretty yarn I'll make 490183759 more of those cloche hats and I'll post all of them.  Wink

ok. i have a bit of trouble understanding patterns without seeing it done myself. also, i've never crocheted a hat or anything in the round so i'm not sure how it works. so, after round one did you make a slip stitch or something? i'm confused.   Huh but i absolutely love it and i've been looking for a pattern i liked to make myself a hat.  Smiley

No slip stitch, just keep crocheting like a spiral. This will leave a little unevenness at the end when you're finished, but the trim will help hide it.

Being completely unhip and unfashionable, I have also not seen the original, but this one is very pretty.  More than anything else, though, I am commenting just to thank you for spelling out each stitch at least once before abbreviating.  It really helps out those of us not used to working from patterns or thinking about our stitches in terms of anything more formal than "a row of loops" or "that two-loop thingie."

Heh.  Maybe I'm the only person who does this.  Still, thanks.

Cheers!
