Calling all indie sew-ers, knitters, crocheters, plush makers, amigurumi gurus, fashion designers, jewelry makers, quilters and cup cake bakers to start up a fun new group dedicated to crafting of all kinds!

Meet monthly to share ideas, teach other new skills and get together to exchange delicious pastries and talk craft, and eventually put together shows and craft expos to show and sell our stuff.

I've had some response to my craigslist ads, but we need more people to get this thing up and running.

Please e-mail me at treesofmachinery@gmail.com if you are interested. I was going to start a meetup.com group for us, but it is EXPENSIVE! So Instead I'll probably do a yahoo group.

Sounds like a good idea to me, what is your meeting venue?

Hi, I just posted in the general Arizona board about having monthly craft fairs at a center I run on 6 Street just off 4th Avenue. Do you need a crafter space? Maybe you can come see if this place will work.

We already have an actual "meet-up" here for a buddhist group, but they are expensive. I think you have to pay the year in advance. (What I mean is, to use the meet-up website to announce the meetings, it costs something. It's free to use the Three Jewels Community Center space although the center does have a 'rent jar' for spare change and such.)

Allison

ps: I'm in a study retreat til August 23rd but the center will be open afternoons again starting the 24th, and you can drop by during one of its programs to see the space even if you don't stay for classes. www.3jewelstucson.com. 314 e. 6 st

I would be interested as well.  If you don't have a venue selected yet, you might consider a public library.  I used to organize meetings for the Jane Austen Society so I know you can reserve meeting rooms for free.
