so about chaining on top of finished work to make embellishments. how do you get it to lie flat so you can't see the back/side of the chain also? does that make sense?

cherry blossoms:
using size 10 crochet thread and size 6 steel crochet hook.
leave a long tail from the first slip knot to use for stitching onto project.
ch 2
rnd 1: 6 sc in first ch, join with sl st to form ring
first petal: ch 2, 3dc in same st, ch 2, sl st in same st.
next petal: sl st in next sc, ch 2, 3dc in same st, ch 2, sl st in same st.
repeat to make 5 or 6 petals. fasten off and leave a long tail for stitching.

i don't write a lot of patterns, so i hope that made sense. someone let me know if they make one.

yaaaaaaaaay.

If you're talking about the branch of the flowers, I think it's awesome the way it looks, it kind of gives it a 3-D effect. I like it that way.

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.

I don't know how to answer the question- but I like the way the branches look just the way you have it now. Lovely job & such nice colors!

Beautiful clutch!  I love the color.

I think I may have an answer to your question - I don't think there's a way to hide the edge on the embellishment.  In my experience, if you embellish with a chain stitch, it's raised.  If you want it to lay flat, you'd be better off using a big needle and embroidering it.  You could also crochet the embellishment separately, and sew it down to the bag.  That might hide the edges.

thanks for the advice! i don't mind it being raised, i just don't like that you can see a bit of the green in between the front of the brown chain and the backing where it attaches.
