That is amazing!  Turtles are amazing, I think I need it or something similar.  Looks like it is time to learn to knit or figure out my own crochet pattern for one Smiley

I love this scarf!  It's exactly the project I've been looking for...where/how can I obtain the pattern?

Thanks,
PattBlues

Check here...

I recently saw the turtle pattern as a free discloth pattern somewhere. If I find it I will be sure to post the site.

I found the link.  http://smariek.blogspot.com/search/label/Free%20Patterns

There isn't a pattern for this because I only take about 5% of the credit for the design. I recommend checking out Barbara Walkers Charted Knitting Designs, because along with the turtle motif, she's got a lot of inspiring patterns. If you're in a hurry, someone seems to have copied the turtle pattern here: http://smariek.blogspot.com/2007/02/embossed-turtle.html. If you knit a bunch of stitches between a couple of those turtles, you'll have yourself a turtle scarf, but it looks like I cast on around 25 stitches. I know I worked a border of 3 seed stitches on each side for the length of the scarf. With the yarn I used, that was enough to keep the edges from curling in, but some yarn is more stubborn. The middle of the scarf I made is just (nice flat) garter stitch. If you have a ravelry account, you can see some of the clever variations other people have come up with here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/turtle-scarf.

Thanks so much for the compliments that keep trickling in!
