My indoor cat snuck out of the house and returned injured (not sure what happened to her.) She is fine now other than she can't move her tail (it just drags behind her), and she has lost control of her bladder and bowels. The vet said that this control may come back (or may not  Sad) in time.  I guess we just have to wait and see because the other option , Cry ,is out of the question. (Another good reason not to let kitties roam)

I found this "diaper" for cats that will stay on better than the usual baby diaper with a hole for the tail. They are quite expensive though considering I will need to have several (one in the wash, one on her, one drying, etc.).  I was wondering if anyone has a pattern or knows of a way of fashioning these cheaper?

I would also like to make them in colors/patterns that would keep her looking cute!  She is already embarassed by her problem Embarrassed. Any ideas?

Aw! Your poor kitty!
The only thing I could find was this:
http://lisaschaos.blog-city.com/baby_afghan_and_doggie_diaper.htm
You could maybe affix something similar to a regular cat harness?
My friend made bitch britches for his retriever out of tighty whities with a patch sewn in , you could cut a hole or flip them around so her tail stuck out the fly. Little kids undies perhaps? You could get cool batman ones then  Cheesy
I hope this works out, and that its not permanent.
Good luck!
(and when you do make something, be sure to post the tutorial somewhere - I couldn't find a free pattern anywhere!

That is an interesting idea.  Kids' underwear...I'll have to try that.  Now to get her to go along with them Wink If I do figure a way of doing the pattern, I will post.  Thanks for the ideas and wishes.

I found these instructions/tutorials,
http://www.cat-world.com.au/StudOveralls.htm These are cat stud pants and stud overalls.  I'm not sure if they would work, breeders use them so their male and female cats can hang out together without making kittens.  They may need adapting for your cat's use.

I hope your kitty gets better.  Cry

Jagged, these look very promising.  I think it might just work.  Thanks!

My poor baby passed away in July. Cry We believe it was from complications of the accident/attack. I guess she was just too sweet for this earth. I know she will be waiting for me at the rainbow bridge.  Thanks for asking.

Happier times with my little girl.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that - it's always super hard to lose a pet Cry especially when you don't know exactly why. . .

Thanks Jagged and Red Phooka. She was a drop off near our country home.  She was much too young to be seperated from her mother when we found her. After a lot of vet visits and time with our family, she turned into a wonderful adult cat. We will miss her. I have decided to take in another cat that needs a home in her memory. The price of loving is grief, but it is well worth it while we have them in our lives.
