Sorry I wasn't able to log in sooner but we were moving house the last few days and I'm only just back on line. I have to say it's really rewarding to see my pattern being knit up...I love the way both of theses skirts look...as to the length remember that you can always slip stitches onto a piece of scrap yarn and try it on your daughters. The skirt does hang down a bit when off the needles and blocking it will add a little more length....but better to go longer if you have enough yarn...that way the girls will get more use out of it as their waist size won't change as dramatically as their leg length. I will check out the numbers on how many stitches should be between markers......really crossing my fingers that there aren't any number mistakes!

I agree that making it longer will really make it last, especially with an elastic waist. Also i took a closer look at the photos on knitty and its actually clear that the waist is purl side out, so hopefully no one else will be confused. Just us--and Elisha and I tend to think alike (although i guess we did come to opposite conclusions on this point). I've gotton a zillion compliments on the work in progress so i'm showing everyone your pattern.

I would post a photo but its not changed much since my last picture. The eyelets are really nice!

oh Elisha-- are we going to have enough yarn? are your running low?

well, i am just making it with the yarn - something i probably should have thought about before i jumped into the extension! but each color has come out with just enough. it's looking great - i am so excited to finish it!

I just saw that skirt on Knitty yesterday, and I'm so excited to see someone already making it! I might have to pick up some supplies so I can work on it during my upcoming vacation.

glad you are joining us! its a lot of fun to make. Are you doing kids sizes or for yourselves? I'm probably just past half way making a size 6-8 so i'll be with you for a while... Check out yarnbow on Ebay for a pretty good price on the hempathy. that's where Elisha and I picked ours up...

i finished the one i was making for my daughter. i posted pics in the completed section. this was honestly one of my favorite knitted projects. maybe it was the yummy yarn, maybe the gorgeous, fun and easy to follow instructions, or maybe it was knitting it with my sister-in-law for our daughters who will be so happy to wear these together! we will post pics here of the 2 of them in their almost matching skirts when they are reunited next month.
