A wrist warmer (there really are two, honestly.) I used a basic pattern I found somewhere and made up the fair isle pattern.

I haven't blocked it yet, I might not. I like it this way.

And the ipod cozy! Can you guess where I cast on?

And closed.

Comments and criticism welcome and appreciated!

Oh, I love the iPod cozy! Can you post a general outline or tute? I have a friend that needs one!

And I love the bright color for the Branching Out, which reminds me...I need to finish the one I started. Tongue I can't stand repetitive lace patterns.

Thirding the tutorial/pattern idea.
I love it! And great yarn choices all around. I really have to make a Branching Out, I think.

Whoo! I got it out and finished it! Turns out I was running out of yarn anyways, so it's a scarflette. All that's left is weaving in ends...I always mess that part up. Sad

Thanks!

It's been awhile since I made the ipod cozy, but here's an attempt at an explanation:

Using four dpns cast on about fourteen stitches (depending on the yarn, needles etc.)
Knit a few rounds, increasing so it stays flat.  When it reaches to the bottom of the screen, stop knitting in the round. Knitting only on the side for the screen, cast of middle stitches, leaving about two on each side. Knit these to desired length and bind off.
Rejoin yarn and bind of sides.
Join yarn to final side and knit until it reaches all the way around the ipod.
Make a buttonhole. (I cast off three on one row and cast three on in the next.)
Knit a couple more rows and bind off.
Sew up sides and single crochet around edges so it lies flat.

If anything is unclear, please ask!

WIPs, congratulations on your branching out and good luck with the ends! I hope you post it, I can't wait to see it!

punk is the new blog, I actually got the idea during a very ill fated attempt at a top down hat.

You just... MADE UP the fair isle pattern?? You make it sound so easy! You did a fantastic job on all three projects, and I personally like the iPod cosy the best. It has a traditional feel to it through the texture and colours that really complements and contrasts the modern symbol and gadget.

Nice.  I like that your iPod cozy has an opening for the scroll wheel.
