So here is my very first quilt.  I made it last year over Christmas break....yes, I know it's very wonky, but I truly had no idea what I was doing!  all the blocks are my design, i made them up as i went along.  it was made for a book report (which was supposed to be a poster, but being the craftster that I am I took it a little further Wink)  they are all characters from George Orwell's Animal Farm. enjoy:

from the top left: Snowball, Napoleon, Old Major, Muriel, Benjamin, Boxer, Clover and Mollie

Close up of pig's head:

Close-up of Goat's head: (my favorite block!)

Close-up of horse's head so you can see how the ears are attatched, kind of 3D  ish they flap around

and an obligatory action shot! (soo warm)

comments and criticisms welcomed!

Very cool concept - will you be embroidering faces onto the animals?  Or painting them on?  It's a bit hard to tell one from the other.  But I do like it.  Great job for a first quilt!

I like how the heads are formed from simple shapes.  I am a big fan of minimalist design.

Thats a nice touch with the ears.

All quilts are equal, some quilts are just more equal than others. Very nicely done!

Don't you hate it when people fill up their signature with random junk you could care less about reading but when you see how long it is you figure it has to be important so you keep reading but it's not worth your time and you just wasted a whole minute reading absolutely nothing at all? I do.
