I know how to braid roving, but one of my friends recently received some that had a "loopy" type braid which allowed the whole chain of braided roving to unravel with just a pull at the bottom loop.  By pulling the bottom loop, the next loop would come undone, then the next, and so on.  This is much a much easier way to release a braided roving than the traditional braids.  I searched for a tutorial on this "loopy" type of braiding, but could not find one.  Does anyone know how to do this type of braid and have a link to a tutorial?

Here are some examples of what I am talking about, taken from etsy seller tisjewelart:

Thanks!

Sounds like finger-crochet to me.  If you google how to make a daisy chain with rope, you should be able to figure it out (same technique).

Yup, that's how I store my roving too.  It is a crochet foundation chain.  It is just a row of slip knots and it is easy to chain several rovings together too if you want to group them by colorway

Thanks, ladies!!  I don't crochet, so this is very helpful!!!  I can't wait to store my roving this way.  It is so much easier to un-braid/un-chain.
