What a great idea!  Those plastic bags seem to multiply after a while.  This is perfect for "going green" - and I loved the french seam.  Cool!!!

Yay!  I loved your idea of using the plastic shopping bag as a pattern.  Here's some pics of my version:

I sewed a patterned panel down the front and instead of bothering with a liner, I hemmed the opening and overstitched the raw seams inside with contrasting thread to look nice.  And double stitched the bottom, although I like the idea of the french seam...I'll do that next time.
