Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have made 2 so far and it was an awsome tutorial, even though I was confused a few times BUT that is because I haven't been sewing for YEARS and all I did before that was freehanding things, preferably just things with straight lines. It took me a while to get my going, as I was really scared that I couldn't do it. But this taught me that I could do more then I thought THANKS TO THIS TUT  Grin I want to make a few more for xmas as soon as I find some time with 3 kids and hubby deployed. Free time is pretty rare here ;-) So thanks so much again for putting all this work into making this tut and sharing it!!!!!!!!!!!

Folding instructions - to enclose with gifted bags!

(right click and save, and then it will be an actual readable size!)

The longer story:
Someone here mentioned a way to fold up the bags without needing the outside pocket, and since I was incapable of getting them to fold right the other way.... I was overjoyed!

Well, it took me a try or two, but I figured it out, and since I am making these for gifts,  I drew up directions on the folding method to enclose with the bags.  I thought I would share, I hope it makes sense to you and comes in handy.  Cheesy

Hello all! I've made it!!
I just wonder if there's an error somewhere, because I couldn't sew on the right side of the bag or it wouldn't have looked as well as on the picture. So I sewed on the bottom on the inside, to make the french seam inside (in french it is called an english seam :p)

HERE IT IS, Pink bag

And THANK YOU a lot for the tuto!

You sew on the right side and then you turn around and sew again on the inside and that makes the raw edges stay inside the seam (and thats the so called french seam).

The french seam is also called English seam in Portuguese, and what we call french seam is something else.

That is an exquisite blanket underneath.

These things should carry a health warning - they're really addictive! First one had a couple of mistakes but they were fixable and I'm now contemplating my 4th and 5th ones! They take me about 2 albums to finish from cutting out to finishing (i always time things by how many times i have to change cd!) but I'm getting quicker each time. Here's my pics:

My last 5 "Christmas gift bag" bags

I have a feeling a few people will be requesting more of them when they get theirs at Christmas, so this probably isn't the last you will hear from me.
