This is awesome. I usually just carry a crocheted totebag when I plan on going shopping, but it's really bulky and doesnt fold up so nicely. Thanks for the awesome tutorial!

Absolutely brilliant!  Any idea if it would still hold up as well if it was hand-sewn?  I think I'll hand-sew one anyway and use it for non-food shopping.  I really need a sewing machine.

I think if you did the french seam at the bottom it should hold up quite well.
