Ok, so this is my first attempt at appliqueing (spelling?).....not as easy as it looks. Well, at least when you have a piece of ---- machine. No worries, I ordered a new one and should be here Monday....woo hoo, lets hear it for Brother 8060 computerized sewing machines. Now If I can figure out how to use it once I have it in my hot little hands......anyways, back to the diaper bag.

and the interior

I like the applique. It looks tough enough to stand the Mom test for diaper bags, too. Good work!

Did you come up with the applique design? I love the pacifier!

I got the idea for the applique from freepatterns.com. I changed it a bit. The hair on the original was an applique as well, but I thought the yarn was pretty cute.

I am thinking that if you did a bunch of these and varied the hair and other details to make them kind of different looking, maybe 3 or 4 characters in all, you might sell a lot of these. I don't know if you do lots of the same bag, but if you were open to that, it might be popular. Just a thought...

Also, one thing I heard of that might be useful is a pocket that is bottle-sized, maybe with some of that insulating silver stuff sewn in to keep bottles cold. People are always looking for unique diaper bags. Good luck on your bags.

It is somewhat hard to see from the photo, but there are 5 pockets inside and one of those is long and narrow enough for a baby bottle. I hadnt really thought of the "space fabric" (silver) but might give that a go. I rarely make two bags the same. I appreciate all your feedback......helps me a ton.
