ha, I had my mom pick some up for me because the stores where I live were out. Her first reaction upon giving me the armor etch was, "Do you know how much this stuff COSTS?" Um, let me pay you right back, mom... right away...

Okay, this question might seem really dumb, but at this site
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/spearmintgumgrl123/detail?.dir=/74f4&.dnm=afe0.jpg&.src=ph
So, for these stencils, is it the black part that will actually be showing up on the glass once you've put on the cream and removed the stencils, or is it the black part that is peeled off and then stuck on the glass so that the rest of the glass has the cream on it, and the black part will be clear glass when removed? Sorry for the convoluted question, I'm having a hard time explaining it. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the tutorial and the inspiration! I etched a couple glasses as gifts for my boyfriend's birthday -- those are our cats. I'm pretty pleased with the results!

Wherever you put the etching cream will be frosted. Your choice as to which you want to have frosted.

hoorah! I finally did this. I made beer glasses for my boyfriend's dad. He's really irish and really into beer so I made his customized glasses for his bar...
Here is a group shot:
I did two glasses with beer mugs and two with bottles. heres the close ups
As you can see the outside stencil leaked a bit but overall I think they turned out good and i think his dad will like them. I also bought wine glasses and I am going to etch them for his mom.

Does any one know what ecological affect these chemicals do to the invoronment? If they burn enough to etch glass even if theyre diluted when washed dow the sink, what will they do if something drinks it :S
Yeah, I'm curious too. Does anyone know? I'm the kind of person who avoids using Drano or large quantities of bleach because of environmental damage. I'd really like to try frosting glass, but not if it's going to kill the fishies.
Thanks!
