Thank you so much for the quick reply...I have never used vinyl contact paper, where can I get it and do you think it will come off easily enough afterwards?  So many questions!

You can get it at most hardware stores, its commonly used for lining shelves. Rite Aide has it too, get the plain kind, the patterned gets your eyes confused. It comes off very easily, dont take it off while youre letting the etching cream set, take it off when you wash it. It doesnt leave a sticky residue or anything. Be sure to show us what you make!!!

another though for etching...
i was looking on the website for Michaels stores and they sell clear glass christmas ornaments...it might be cool to etch some ornaments as a gift. maybe if someone you know recently had a baby (you know, 'baby's first christmas' or something like that) or if a friend is getting married. people like to commemorate events with ornaments. or at least my parents do.

I've tried to etch on glass ornaments, and they are really hard to do. The normal sized globes have so much curve to them that it's tough to get stickers to lie flat. You have to use really small stickers/pieces of contact paper. If anyone has any suggestions or success stories on etching ornaments, I would love to hear them!

This is so great.
I've etched a few things, but only used the stencils that come with it.

IDEA!  I scrapbook and end up with some mismatched colored letter stickers.  I can use them to write names.  It would be a great gift.

Thanks!

I can't wait to try this one either although i'm a little hesitant about the Armour Etch somehow damaging the new sink.  hmm...
