Edit: The pattern is written up! You can find it here:
http://www.cyn.ca/knit/patterns/viciousgnaugabackpack.shtml

I made this for the June knitting challenge, but I'm reposting it here for people who don't care about knitting challenges but do care about giant fuzzy knitted monsters.

It's based on the Vicious Gnauga monster from Kingdom of Loathing, which looks like this:

Pattern is my own, and I'm in the process of writing it up.

There is lots more info (and more pics) in my thread over in the knitting challenge section. Thanks for looking!

So cool! I must learn knitting just to knit that.

Thanks everyone! Smiley

How much does the bag stretch (or does it)??

Hm... it's moderately stretchy. It's knit with chunky yarn and fun fur held together, but with a needle size you'd normally use to knit each separately. So the fabric is fairly dense, but it still has some stretch to it. I wouldn't use the bag to carry around anything really heavy. The straps are very stretchy.

Was it hard to make? i'm a beginner knitter and can only dream of such scaryness!!!

The knitting part of it is actually really easy, aside from the fun fur being a little annoying to work with. If you can do stockinette, garter, seed stitch, 3-needle binding off, picking up stitches, and knitting in the round, you can make it. I had much more trouble with the sewing part (attaching straps, pocket, and teeth), possibly because I am the suckiest suck who ever sucked when it comes to sewing.

I'll be linking to the pattern when I'm done writing it up, so you can take a look then, and see if it looks doable for you.

Wow that's one cool backpack. Do you happen to have a picture of the inside?

There are a couple pictures in the other thread that sort of show the inside. Hard to get a good inside picture when the inside is basically a light-absorbing furry black hole. Grin
