Thanks, everyone!

Pleaforpeace: It takes 1 part perfectionism (that's just me) and 1 part concentrating pretty hard on following the guidelines on the machine.  Smiley

Those look so cute on you!!  That's a genius idea too, that I didn't even think of.  Make the pattern in shorts first...and don't waste a ton of fabric if it's not quite the right fit.

I have the book too, and that pattern is very cute!  Love the low back yoke.

I got the rivets at Jo-anns, and no, it was not hard. The kits are in the same section as snaps, hooks and eyes and cover-able buttons. All you have to do is follow the directions. They do, however, involve a hammer and I'm not sure how comfortable you are with one of those. Hope this helps!

O.m.gosh.

I'm super jealous that you made such PERFECT shorts. And I thought I was the only one who liked dark denim! Isn't it great? Are the shorts closed with a zipper? If so, was it hard to sew the zipper onto the shorts? I've never sewn zippers (only once by hand for punk-ish pants, but the zippers were on top of the fabric, and not in the normal way you would use zippers). They look so daunting. I want to make shorts and pants, and even overall, but I'm scared!
