There's another place to sell on, called ecrater.com and it's free. No fees! No listing fees, no fees when you sell either. Check it out, it's an option. The forums there are pretty helpful and welcoming.
I hope I'm not violating any terms posting this...If so I do apologize.

ecrater is more like an eBay alternative, actually.  I have not seen too much handmade or ANY handmade on there...but I have not done a search in a good 6 months.

It is frustrating to pay money for something that does not sell...but, I try not to list TOO much, and pay less than $10 any given month...usually less than $5 if items have not been selling for my items that are up for sale because I have less than 30 and I deactivate old stock for a time, then try it again to see how the tide may have turned.  I do a LOT of searching, and I really do see more supplies than handmade selling most of the time out of the items I have in my faves...so that is a bit discouraging...

Shocked  After reading this I so understand why it is so hard to get my items sold on etsy. I have sold a ton on ebay and that is a real pain too. But i really had no Idea the etsy site was that way Thank you all  for the info.

The only way you're really going to get more views, and I'm being absolutely serious about this, is to sit in front of your computer for 16 hours a day and promote.  Not only promote & advertise, but list frequently.  If you don't have a ton of items, you need to relist the ones you have listed.  Sounds horrible, doesn't it?  When I was unemployed for a couple months, that's literally all I did to pull in cash.  I was in the forums, in the chat room, on crafting forums such as this one, listing items 4-5 times a day, writing newsletters, posting on myspace, livejournal, vox etc...

If you just list your earrings and hope they sell, they won't. Period.  That's another reason why I haven't done jack on my Etsy page.  I'm pregnant now, and I've had NO motivation to do anything of the sort.  I randomly check there to see what kind of feedback I have, but that's about it.  Eventually, I'm going to have to list everything I have in stock as my inventory is currently sitting in the baby's room and I'd really just like to sell it than store it Wink

Wow; all I have to say is this is exactly how I'm feeling, and how I've been feeling for the past 2 months.  The time investment compared to the return on investment is so insanely low that it doesn't really make a lot of sense to push mysel on those token days where I'm awake to to list, promote, list & promote.  Thanks for sharing; now I don't feel so alone!
