Pop Tab dress with straps

I actually finished this dress over half a year ago, after working on it for almost a year. It's made from +4000 tabs, which is why it took so took me so long to collect them.
It closes with a ribbon and the skirt part is longer in the back. I forgot to take a picture of the back while wearing it. All the edges are crocheted for extra strength and I think it looks neater.

I've worn it quite a few times and it is very comfortable to wear. I made the skirt part so you can sit down in it. I've worn it to school and out shopping. I get way crazy comments about it, like 'Is that real metal?' and 'Are you wearing it because you don't feel safe', but it's all cool

This is amazing! I would love to make something with pop tabs and this is inspiring!

I was just at a party yesterday and the beers and sodas were being consumed at a rapid pace. I actually started to reach for a blue tab on a can of Coors Light (I think), but stopped myself...it would become an obsession...

Maybe I'll send an e-mail out to the family to start saving their tabs for me...

What do you do about the sometimes sharp/jagged bits that appear when the tab is removed from the can?

I've heard that there's a charity here in Australia that will donate a free wheelchair to someone who needs one if you collect enough tabs to equal the weight of a wheelchair. Crazy huh!
