How did you punch the holes in them? Do you do that before sticking them in the oven? It's been about 25 years since I've shrunk a shrinky dink so my memory of how they work is fuzzy...

Totemo kawaii!!  Did you use the inkjet dinks?  I bought some at Michael's to make custom Hello Kitty accessories for a swap.  Your kitty is awesome!!  I'm thinking of using Krylon Triple-Thick Crystal Clear Glaze.  Going to work on them now ***crosses fingers***

OMG!! I DID IT!! Grin  Sorry for all the yelling, but if you knew how intimidated I was by these things you'd be yelling, too Wink  Here it is:

The one on the left hasn't been shrunk.  That's the size I started with to get the one on the right.  I just put a coat of the Krylon Clear Glaze on it and it's perfect.  I wanted it to be extra glossy and this is perfect.  Gonna put another coat on in an hour.

Thank you, kitschkween for posting your HK creation.  If you hadn't I probably would've put off doing this and now I'm totally addicted Smiley

Darn!  Hubby says we have to leave in 2 hours for a trip to the lake...sigh...  You know you're a crackster when you'd rather be crafting than on holiday  Roll Eyes

Love that Laura Palmer! But I have to admit... I feel old reading that no one else recognized her. Am I really that old? Ack. Sad

Ah, Twin Peaks. What a great show -- thank goodness for DVDs keepin' it alive.

My husband would kill for a Laura Palmer keychain!   We own the whole series on (talk about old) VHS.  I see a future present coming.  Thank you for the inspiration.  Not having done shrinky dinks in about twenty years, I am so out of it that I didn't even know it came in inkjet versions.  Way cool!

LOL! I haven't worked with shirinky dinks yet. I've only worked with beads, polymer clay and wire as far beads and trinkets are concerned.  I just learned how to knit so I share that obsession.

You did a really great job.  I love them.

I am trying to use the Grafix Inkjet Printable shrink sheets I just got, but when I am trying to print them, the ink is pooling and/or running together in dark areas.  I have tried both sides of the sheet as well as sanding the sheet first.  Any ideas?

check your printer settings to make sure it's on "transparency paper". lick your finger and touch both sides of the sheet. the sticky side is the print side.

Ok - so it turns out the first sheet in the pack I opened was just regular shrinky paper, not the inkjet kind!  The other ones printed just fine...  Cheesy

Thought I'd share how the dinks I made for a swap turned out with the sealant.

I love this sealant.  It makes them SOOOO SHINY and its a pretty thick glaze to boot.  I used "KRYLON Triple-Thick Crystal Clear Glaze", it's a mouthful, but that's exactly what it's called Wink  Folow the directions and you'll be fine.  No smearing and no dripping.  This stuff is GREAT!!

Yep,  I got mine at Wally World, too and it REALLY makes stuff so shiny I LOVE IT!  I use it to seal my photo domino necklaces~

I love to touch it, so smooth!
Lowe's has it as well, as any store that carries basic home paints.

I'm sure you figured this out long ago (say, 2008?  Embarrassed); but what I did to help determine how much an object would shrink was:

I drew a 5-inch "ruler" onto a sheet (printing it would have been better  Cheesy) and shrunk it. That showed me what size I could expect a 3-inch high object to be after shrinking  Wink
