well, my one real problem with the dots is that the ribbon is really shiny and satiny, which to me just doesn't seem to fit the rest at all...the buttons are matte finish and the beads are frosted, and i just don't think that the combination of those plus denim and cotton quilting fabric looks that great with the shiny ribbon. my husband, however, thinks the opposite...that the shiny is a nice contrast...i don't know what to pick!  Cry

Either way, I guess they both work. I liked the polka dots because it matches with the button shape. But stripes could also work because it could match the tone of it or contrast the circly shapes.

ETA:

Or maybe, you could somehow make it so that they could be interchangable. Cheesy

Hm, I like the polka dots. The stripes are just too gaudy for me, I guess.

thanks! i sure hope she likes it....

too late for that, i admit...first thing i did when i got home with the buttons and stuff was fuse the polka dot ribbon on with heat-n-bond ultra, which is why i'm not just leaving it bare up there...i'm either covering it up or leaving it as-is!
