I love those guys! Every single last one of them! I want to know what they're doing now, 24 years later.

Cheers for sharing - this is awesome! That elephant sweater is great, and I like the stripy night cap too.

I wonder if they all still knit?

So awesome! I love the cover picture, and I'm so confused by the sweater above the elephant sweater--is that a small dog humping a large dog? Attacking a large dog? What??

That's pretty awesome.  It's interesting to see what guys would knit for themselves, iykwim?  Rather than what they would wear if a chick knitted for them.

Thanks for posting it (and I agree with everyone about the elephant, it's gorgeous! Cheesy)

I live in Germany right now (stationed with the Army) and what's scary is some guys here might still be wearing these. (my german boss loves his black socks and sandles)

Same here. I think they're bears, though.

i found the pullovers he made, they are, well seventiesque and he also made things for me when i was small.

I agree with vinnie451 still today the sandaly+ socks + selfmade wool pullover has its wearers. Or cardigans dont you love those ?

My favourite! I have this book, and I admit that I bought it and kept it just for this article! By the way, the Lorenz Lorenz guy who made the only real ugly thing, the green and yellow sweater, wanting to be artistic and superdifferent but in my opinion just didn't get the hang of it and did the wise move to embrace his mistakes Smiley, is actually an artist today. He is a musician, has just released a record that got a review in my newspaper that sounded quite promising, and I read it and thought: isn't that the knitting guy Smiley I was told by a friend he is some kind of local celebrity in Munich.
One of the other guys said he wanted to become a fashion designer, I'd like to know if he did. His knitting is so perfect.
@Jolyon: I'd love to have that picture too and I am just too lazy preoccupied to join the two scans. Could you share it please?

How interesting. I wonder if males who knit is more acceptable in Europe. My mother has an expertly knitted round  Lace table cloth knitted by the husband of a friend. He is now deceased.

All the time I have been spending on Craftster for 2 years and not stumbling across this post ? OMG ! Thanks for posting. I'm copying the pics to read the whole story. I'm just wondering if those guys are still knitting. It could be interesting to post a message on the german knitters' group on Ravelry, couldn't it ?

Edit for adding this :

I loooooove the vertical fair isle sweater !  Smiley
