Baby hat and grown-up cabled scarf - links to patterns included!

Hey crafters,

I wanted to share two good little patterns I found, and used. I'm going to visit my best friend this weekend, and made a little something for her and for her little yet-to-be-born baby...

Baby hat - my first fair isle!

Used some Plymouth Encore (washable wool blend) and size 7's.

Cabled scarf for mommy. This took ages and I even knit some on my honeymoon. Kept it interesting, but so...much...cabling ...

Used some lovely superwash wool I'd been saving. Worsted weight, don't remember the brand Size 7s.

Like them! I really like you color combo for the baby hat.  Babies need color (I think so) I've saved the cable scarf pattern when I'm ready for a cable project.
