I was doodling one day, and i was thinking i haven't drawn a mermaid in forever (sometimes you can get tired of just drawing legs, you know?) and i came up with this chick:

sorry if  it's to heavy for the dial up users...
keep in mind that the actual colors are 10x better than this one.

here's the link if the pic decides to disappear:

I have a paintbrush, and I'm not afraid to use it!

Wow, that's gorgeous! I love mermaids and the details in the water look great.

What did you use? Markers?

This is so adorable!
I read your comment on my thread, and I'm glad you posted because this is just so sweet.
I love the affect of markers, I'm not that experienced with them, but my cousin uses a combination of colored pencil and marker.
What I really love is the fact that you have a background.
My pictures almost never do, partially because I'm afraid I'd butcher it and partially because I have no idea what to do.
As for the mergirl, she has got to be the cutest I've seen.
I love her expression, and she's very proportionate (condsidering she has a fin instead of legs).
Also, you have very cute handwriting...mine sucks. Smiley
