i quit art at college after doing it for a week because i was sick of being told exactly what to draw. i haven't done art in over 2 years now, aside from the odd sketch or watercolour here and there.

i like to do a bit of manga too Smiley

i have an interview for a new art college next week, and would be grateful if anyone could help me with tips for creating my portfolio Smiley

Holy crap you're gifted, I LOVE your works.
As for a portfolio, keep it varied, they want to see your range.
I went in for an interview with Institute of the Arts, and had a small but varied port, and I could have gone, but the whole military shipping me off didn't work too well with that.
If you use different mediums to work with, use one of each for your port, and works from when you "started" (I know, it's so vague, but they ask for starter work sometimes) up until now.  Good luck Retro_Bambi, I'm rootin for ya!

You do very nice work! I do not think you will have a problem at your interview.
I will add however, that when I got into an art school several years ago they were very interested in my PASSION for art, almost more than examples of my work. So be sure you have thought out what you will say to them to let them know it is something that you really want Cheesy
Good luck to you!

colleges tend to like to see a variety. do a few self-portraits, some still lifes, that sort of thing. or you could go to the zoo and draw some animals... oh, and they like to see a little collage work in there, too. what college are you applying to, if i might ask, and what are you planning on studying? your portfolio should show a leaning to your desired major.
