I used this tutorial to make a bag as a birthday gift for a friend, and embroidered her initial on it, it was really easy and looked awesome! Couldn't take pics though Sad but it's an AMAZING tutorial

Thank you very much for this awsome tute.. it had save me several times when ever I run out of ideas for gifts..I have made 4 of these so far between 2009 and 2011..  I even once enlarged the pattern to fit for a men's toiletry bag ( forgot to take a picture of this one).. 
the one with the dragon fabric is my first one, the black one is made for a friend of mine recently.. it has Palestinian embroidery and a glass beads zipper pull..

Thanks for the tutorial!  I've been meaning to make a pencil pouch for the longest time, but haven't had the time while in class.  Well, finals were this week, and I finally had time!

It might be best to start with a quilter's cotton. It'll give a light body, and be less likely to fray, as opposed to satins.
