I made these shirts for the Hunger Games Movie premier last year and I was just remembering that I took pictures. I thought craftster might enjoy them!

I designed what i wanted on illustrator and printed it out as close to the actual size i wanted the design, that way i could see where the center of the design fell.

i grabbed a gray shirt for me and a blue for sister and i stuffed them with an old towel.
i used chalk to mark the center line and horizontal lines to use as reference.

I also roughed in the letters with chalk to know that my design was even.
Then i think i used half water/half bleach and a paint brush and started painting my design. I usually letter things from the middle that way i know i have enough room to fit everything.

it was thrilling to see the change!

after i was happy with the color, i rinsed the shirts.
and of course being my first ever bleached shirts, i couldnt go without making a mistake!
I did not realize that i had to let the shirt dry before trying to bleach something else. Let's call it a midnight, almost asleep mistake!
so i tried to make the mocking jay on the back by spraying bleach over the stencil. UGH you can guess what happened... it bleed all into my mocking jay. I was too upset so i left them up to dry over night.
the next day i remembered that i had bought some gold fabric paint and voila! problem solved.

it turned out better than i hoped! almost reminds me of fire Cheesy
so there you have it kids. now go out and make one!

These are cool! I bet everyone was asking where you bought them Smiley. Bleach painting is something I want to try but haven't got around to yet.
