Last Friday I saw a great pattern book(let) at Micheal's, it had several ponchos and a really cool duster jacket type sweater on the back of it.  The jacket hat a hood and it had eyelash yarn around the edge of the hood and sleeves and bottom of it.  It was done in homespun type yarn in a neutral beigish color.

Anyway, I went back today to get the book and it wasn't in the same place, and it wasn't in with any of other books either.  It's gone!     I MUST HAVE THIS PATTERN! Does anyone else happen to have it and can tell me who makes it so I can order it directly? Or have you seen it in a store that isn't Micheal's?

Thanks a ton, in advance!

Sounds like it could be a Lion Brand booklet.  Here's a link to their booklet patterns... but check out the adult stuff too.  Not just the free patterns, but the ones you have to pay for. You may find it (or something mightly similar) on their site:

thanks, I had checked some of those out already but I took the time to look at all of them this time and still no luck Sad  I have checked the bernat yarn site as well.  I will try JoAnn's tonight after work and hopefully they will have the book. Smiley

FOUND IT! It was a cape. not a jacket, but still!

I went to JoAnn's and they didnt' have it, so I went to Hancock Fabrics and I saw what might be the leaflet name on the rack but it was sold out, so then I desperately tried wal-mart and BINGO! they had it! yay!
They also had a bunch of poncho books right with.  Very cute stuff, I was suprised.  So now i just have to finish up my current stuff and then I will get saucy with my cape (but I think I will add sleeves and make it a jacket) and post a pic when it's done Smiley

ok so I made this.. sort of.
I didn't make it as long as it wanted me to ( I left off 38 rows!) cause I am short and it would have been dragging the ground.  I also didn't finish the hood for it because I didn't like the way it was working out.
Over all, I hate it entirely.  I am giving it to my grandmother for xmas.  Hopefully she will like it.  I will try to remember to get a picture of it on her tomorrow.

if you're looking for a good duster pattern, that actually is a coat and not a cape, there's one in the "simply creative crochet" magazine (its by better homes & gardens, has a pic of a woman in a blue hooded jacket on the front).  its called the "ruffle-edge coat," and it looks pretty similar to that cape thing, only it has sleeves and it isn't floor-length.  actually, the mag has some really decent patterns in it; nothing is terribly old-ladyish.  it says on the front "display til jan. 4, 2005", so if you want the pattern, get it soon (the only place i could find it was michael's).  good luck!  Smiley

thanks I will have to check it out, my michaels doesn't seem to have any crochet mags, just knitting ones.  But I will ask someone next time I am in there (which is almost every day it seems like!)
