So my brother's birthday is tomorrow, and I just finished embroidering this shirt for him a few days ago.  It turned out wonderful (though you can't tell just how wonderful from the photobooth picture  Tongue)

However, I do have a problem (besides the awful looking mess):

This was my first embroidery project, and about 3/4 of the way through I realized I should have tied knots before and after each thread, which I didn't do.  How would you remedy this problem?

Anyways, I love it and I'm looking forward to more emroidery projects...I just bought a few new patterns from sublime stitchery that I'm anxious to try out Smiley

I love it, but I have a question, is it just the photo or is it backwards. I am sure it's just the photo, but I thought I would ask. I love it...Could you maybe go back and tye them??

Yeah, it's just the photo that mirrored it Smiley  I should go back and fix that.

I don't really see how I could re-tie them...the strings are really short.  Any suggestions on how to do that?

Thanks so much for the quick response!

Great job! Especially if this is your first work  Shocked

My suggestion would be to purchase some iron on heat and bond type stuff. Then bond the back with a piece of thin fabric. It would encase all of the threads.  It will make it a bit stiffer though.

You could try to fray check each individual one too, but I don't know if that would work as well.

Good luck!! And GREAT JOB!

what about ironing some fusible interfacing on the inside?  it'll hide all the ends, keep them from undoing...

That's what I'd suggest as well -- fusible interfacing.  You can get the very fine kind so you keep the shirt flexible.

I'd spray the backside with a fabric adhesive, then iron on the fusible interfacing (which Joann's stores behind the cutting counter).

Good luck.

Brilliant!  I had thought about the fusible interfacing, but didn't think it would stick.  The fabric adhesive idea is inspired Smiley

Thanks bunches!

p.s. here are some clearer pictures I just took:

It's an amazing job, but you do know you put an O where the I should be, don't you?  I would also recommend interfacing Smiley

I wondered about that when I found the image, but I also saw the same spelling elsewhere...odd Tongue

Thanks for the additional interfacing tip!
