I made my very first little faerie cottage last night after seeing the little wooden "birdhouse" at Michael's and getting inspired. It was created for a a community I belong to called, "Full Moon Swaps" for our June theme, "Enchanted Forest." But now, I totally love it and don't know if I want to part with it!  Grin

Anyway, I'm so proud of it and I thought I'd share it with some fellow crafters who might enjoy/appreciate it.

I painted the whole thing, did accents and tones of color, then I added the river rock stones. Next came the little flower/vines and then I finished with the lichen moss on the roof. I might try to add some little curtains for the windows and I want to finish it with one of those battery-operated tea light "candles" that you can put in pumpkins. They flicker like a real candle without the flame. It'll be like the little faerie is glowing away warmly in her home.

I'm really proud of how it came out. Hope you like too!

Edit: I went to the park near my house to take a couple of pictures with the cottage nestled in the woods. I thought it'd be a really cute way of showing it off as if one really came across it on a hike.

(Yeah I know. I'm a dork!  Cheesy )

Very cute!  Looks like it was a lot of fun to plan and make!  I've been dying to do one of these (either a fairy house or bird house) because the options are endless!  There are so many materials you can use, and let's face it--everything is cuter when it's miniature!

Shocked Wow! That is such a cool idea!! I may swipe it for an unsued and abandoned bird house that currently takes up space at my house!

I grabbed another and a different shape from Michael's yesterday and I want to make some more. The options are limitless and it's just so fun to watch it all come together!!  Grin
