I did NOT take before pics. I was being retarded. BUT if you can picture for a min. a small boring brown suitcase sitting in the thrift store tagged at 99 cents with some weird velvet insides... then you have my before.

This is my after!




What I did was first paint it a lovely green color using 2 shades of limeish green. Then I added some orange, and speckled the whole thing with brown and the three other colors.

Second, I went through my collection of images to use for art that I got from thrift store books and other places and picked out some choice pieces and Mod Podged them on.

Third, I went through my scraps of blue monster fur I used to make a cat and went to town on the insides.

Now, we have the finished product! And here are some addtl. pictures!

I'm jealous of all of you crafty people who find suitcases and other fun containers.  My local thrift stores seem to be out of these and I would love to have some for moving and storage in what's bound to be a small apartment.

Not only have I gotten a ton at thrift stores, but we went to an auction a few weeks ago, and got a lot for a buck, all in near mint condition, a suitcase, a smaller one and the cosmetics case. Added bonus, we found the key inside. We got those and four boxes full of misc. pieces for a buck, can't beat that.

ETA: Try checking out local auctions as well, you might get lucky!

Dude, I totally lucked out on finding this. It was on clearance too. They normally don't have things this cool at my thrift store.

haha yeah well.. my actual fur was kinda in random strips. So... you can kinda tell where the strips are, but if I mess up the fur it's not so bad.

This is totally cool-reconning old luggage is a great craft. Just be careful not to send it through airline check on without saranwrapping

What does the saran wrapping do? Make sure it doesn't fly open?

This is actually quite small, more like a carry on if anything... but mostly I'm using it as a camera case for my canon.
