Everyone's project is wonderful......geesh, the idea I had for my project is totally lame and simplistic.  Oh well....I guess ya gotta start somewhere.    Wink

Xmelinda, I LOVE your project...and that movie.  And the evil wheely duck.  So cute.

Ummm..yeah, about my project...there's a BIG chance it will not be finished.  School just ended (yesterday), and now the mad christmas scarf-making hell begins.

Here's my first attempt at embroidery

It's just done on a pillow and the green thread matches the backside of the pillow

That is pretty neat, and so much easier to follow a fabric pattern then free hand;p

Ok, I take back what I said before.  I took a couple hours out early this morning and made my project.  I have NEVER done embroidery before and it's all free-hand...so let that be a warning. Tongue

The reason it has no limbs is because it originally started out as a cell phone holder, but I ran out of time.  If there are any AFI fans here, they'll know what it means, but I'll explain if I need to....

I'm so excited I actually started my project DAYS before the end of the un-swap. My choice of stich (singular) & pattern are not very ambitious but it's totally addictive! Now that I went a little shop happy in the needlework section I'll have lots of stuff on hand to embellish away. Only thing is that after several hours my digits were sore. Guess I'm going to have to work up some needle muscles. This really is sooo fun to craft-along with my un-swap sistahs. BTW the projects that have been posted are beeeeautiful. Well done ladies! I should be able to post a pic tonight after I go to hear the Messiah.

My camera isn't working right now (boo!! at Christmas!) but I made some napkins on my serger (rolled hems, white with a tiny white design all over fabric) and in the corners I embroidered various things in metallic gold thread-a G (for my last name), a star, etc. etc.

Everyone's embroidery looks great, so inspiring!
I have been working on projects from the Stitch It Kit, these are some bibs for my brother and his wife who are expecting soon.
Fun!
