This thing owns...but why is hot glue so bad?
I'm not a textile person, but I am a cosplayer...and hot glue has saved my life...

I guess I've always had a love-hate relationship with hot glue (aside from the little circular burns they leave on my clumsy paws) because where I live (St. Louis) has pretty extreme, unpredictable weather. In a place that gets really, really hot & muggy as well as really, really cold & dry, adhesives tend to be pretty fickle. I've had problems with hot glue A. coming unstuck for seemlingly no reason and B. it leaves ugly bumps on the top of fabric more often than not. Granted I've also been rescued by hot glue, thus the 'love' portion of the relationship, I just try to avoid it when I can.

Makes sense.  I live in Michigan, so I can understand the unpredictable weather bit.
I live in my basement though, where it's usually really cold cause I have to keep a fan going at all times to circulate air, so I don't usually have to worry about my hot glue getting goopy once its set.

I would like to make more things like this to house bobbins, needles, etc... I've gotten MUCH better at sewing and construction since I posted this. Thanks for the inspiration and your comments!
