I'd say leave it up to the partners .. some folks may have a great bag already, others may want one.

Hee hee, I was just intending on crafting the actual bag as an extra bonus bit of crafting.  Honestly, I would be happy to receive goodies without a bag at all, in that case I would take it to mean that the parcel itself is the goodie bag.  I do agree that it is something we ought to discuss with their partners.  Also, I would like to say that I totally agree about having pouches in your knitting bag.  My craft bag was sewn for me by Lady Llanalla a while back for the tea time swap, and even though she made it with a lot of pockets, she was kind enough to include some little zippered pouches.  The whole shebang is so huge it doubles as my regular handbag too, I keep that stuff in the pockets and can fit a lot of projects in there too, all my craft notions live in the pouches.  At the moment I am carting about 3 small knitting projects, a small crochet project, my most recent dyeing projects (for 'show and tell') 2 library books and a teapot in there.  Roll Eyes

Don't worry myklia, this is too popular not to go to round 2, and by then you will have the best ideas from watching round 1.  Sometimes, I find I get far less swap anxiety from a round 2 (or higher) swap than I do from a round 1.  But then, I am a tad silly too.

I sent in my info, can't wait to get partners!! I love crafting bags but I know that some people have a very specific need or idea about the perfect bag. So I'm not sure if Iwill make a bag or make something else instead. I guess it will all come down to what our partners are interested in.

Right now I'm just waiting for the "your in" email to come.

I didn't know it was possible to have too many project bags, but then I generally have at least 1/2 dozen WIPs on the go.  Some small, some enormous and I have the bags to go with every one.  Apparently I am an accessory junkie.

I already have a super awesome yarn bag, it is meant for gardening, but I saw all those pockets and dreamed of all the different projects I could put in them.

Apologies to whoever were upset by my absent.  I was in and out of the hospital from December 2007 until June 2008.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has lots of project bags! I have a few really large bags I use for projects and I keep the nice plastic bags I get yarn in from my LYS.  Then I can put more than one project in a large bag.

I got a great take with me tools roll thing in the last crochet goodies swap.  I really like it. I like it because I can pull it out and see the tools. It can go in any project bag that needs to go with me somewhere.

My knitting bag can fit 3 to 4 projects.  I hope I don't often have that many projects going on at once, but I also thought I would never have more than one project at a time and that has long since been broken.  I will look forward to seeing all the goods when the gallery comes.

Eek! Am I the only one who just shoves her knitting in her purse? (bad, bad knitter!) Actually, I place it in one of the pockets of my laptop case when going to/from work, and at home I keep it in a bin with a lid -- or else the kitties would find the yarn and destroy it (it's happened before, lesson learned).

When I went to my knitting group last week, I carried my knitting in a re-used gift bag. I think it's time for me to have a specific bag for my projects!
