My local Wal-Mart had this really awful Jonas Brothers shoulder bags for only $1!! Both my sister's boyfriend and I were looking for new bags, but didn't want to spend a lot of money on them. My sister had the idea to re-cover the cheap bags w/ a t-shirt, and I kind of stole the idea from her when I noticed that they still had a lot of them in stock, so I picked up a few to cover for myself. The best part about these is that they're the perfect size for my lap top, so when I have to go to campus, I don't have to lug around my huge backpack on the days I don't need to bring my entire arsenal of electronics and supplies.

This is the one my sister did for her boyfriend; he's a Star Wars fanatic! They picked up the t-shirt for about $7 at Wal-Mart. (I'm too new to post pics; I've been lurking for ages and apparently never posted...so settle for links for now)

And here are the two I did for myself; yes that IS a Hanner's t-shirt from the webcomic Questionable Content. I've had the shirt for like two years and it didn't fit me; I'm glad I found a good way to use it so I can finally show it off! The Lisa Simpson t-shirt I found on clearance for $5 --so, I basically got 2 bags for $6. (Excuse my unmade bed and poor lighting; it was like 1 in the morning when I finished these)

My sewing machine absolutely hates me, so my stitching is really horrible, but I actually kind of like the rough edges. I've got one more bag, but I don't have another t-shirt for it yet... Maybe I'll use my (old!) Muggle t-shirt for it!

This is the BEST use of old tshirts I've seen yet! I absolutely love this!

Thanks Smiley I can't wait to get to use them, and my sister's boyfriend is already enjoying his.
