I couldn't wait and so started practicing making Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes made of ticky tacky, little boxes on the hillside, little boxes all the same.... for the up coming  Winterlicious Celebrations Matchbox Swap

Love that silly song. Anyway, here are my practice boxes. A couple of notes:
Scoring is a must. I finally invested in a scoring board (this one is from Martha Stewart) and I love it! I also invested in a Fiskars cutting board, love that too. The paper needs to be moderately stiff and I experienced cracking on the fold of one of the papers. Make sure you make the cover just a bit, like a 1/16" in all directions bigger.

I used this template as a guide. http://blog.swap-bot.com/rachels-matchbox-template/ Final inside size is 2" by 1/2 "

and the swap is here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=436753.0

And one of them grew eyes and a zebra jumped in the box. These are definitely fun!

That video was so much fun! Thank you. My wife is making strum sticks for our pick up band. I've never played a stringed instrument so this should be interesting. Now I want to make a tiny little matchbox stringed instrument.
