I love old tattoo artwork and sailor lore, so I thought this wall hanging would be a fun tribute.  I drew up the picture based on some flash I saw in a magazine, colored it with colored pencils and traced the outside lines with a pen that makes your lines puff up (I don't know what its called Undecided) then I distressed a piece of scrapbook paper with distress inks and sandpaper, stuck it to another paper and added brads and made the flower (It's attached with a brad also).  I made tags from pictures of old sailor tattoos and used wire to hang them as well as the picture itself.  Hope you enjoy!

I know what you mean there!!
That is amazing. I really love how you mixed up all the papers and other embellishments. I hope you do post more as you complete them!

Thanks again guys!  It's about 1 ft.  by 1/2 a foot.  I'm working on a shadow box type project right now, each section will have a different scene in it, gonna have to take a few digital pics of that, don't think it'll scan too well lol.

That is awesome. I love the antiqued feeling, and the gorgeous color scheme. They go perfectly with such a terrific tattoo design.

Freaking awesome.  I love Sailor Jerry and old school tattoo flash.  The mix of colours and antiquing is great, it blends really well.  I'd definately show that off on my wall Smiley

I'm so excited people are appreciating the old school tattoo goodness!  The only thing I seem to really have the hang of is antiquing things... unfortunately that doesn't seem to be appropriate for all occasions lol.  Everyone gets a vintage antique inspired SOMETHING for their birthday.  My husband says it's kinda gloomy.   Grin
