Two-Ton Killing Machine... with a pretty bow.

I recently came across this article of clothing that is soon to be incoroprated into a gothic (maybe EGL) cosplay. However, I'm interested in seeing if anyone can tell me more about it. From the boning and lacing it seems to be SOME kind of corset, but the high back is unlike anything I've seen before. The pink color makes me think it wasn't a sliming device designed for old women... it's torn where it goes over the shoulder blades, making it look like something else used to be attached to it that is no longer there.

It looks almost like it was part of one of those pink lace-up high fashion dresses that were all the rage in Vogue about two or three years ago, but I have no idea why someone would just throw out part of such an expensive outfit, so I doubt that's the case.

Even if no one knows anything about it, it's still going to look great with a gothic outfit once I finish fixing it up. It needs to have those tears repaired and there's a possibility I'll remove the back, but otherwise I think it's going to end up paired with a blank and pink ankle-length skirt with petticoat for volume.
