I have seen so many halter dresses on here lately, I decided to give it a go today.  My daughter asked me for a red dress last night, so here is what I threw together.  And yes, that is a matching scarf and purse.  No, I don't know what I was thinking, but at least she seems to enjoy it.

I don't know if any of you have noticed the red and black mood I have been into lately, but if you have,  think it is finally over with this one.  Time to get another color into my system!   Grin

*I ended up not using a pattern or a tutorial on this one.  If I was going to though, vegbee has got an awesome tutorial up right now that is very similar to this one.*

Thanks, and as always please let me know what you think.

That's awesome, adorable matching accessories too!  I usually quit at the headband, since I think my kid has about 20 purses now... if only she had a walk-in closet to display them all! Wink

Love the whimsical rick rack and LONG design of it.

Thanks so much for your sweet comments.

Origanal youth:  Luckily she is less than 3 feet tall, her closet feels like a walk in to her.   Grin  Now, to get those clothing rods down to her level, and an accessory display case.  I'm thinking something lighted.  Haha, just kidding, I'm sure that it is not that good.

How cute is that?  I love it!  The ric rack makes it nice and cheerful for a lil girl, the black would have been too formal without it  Grin

Thanks so much mommagreenbean!  I am so new to sewing still, and that really means alot.  (Since I have no clue what I am doing!  Wink  )

I was worried about the black also, seeing as how it is summer and she is only two.  That is what she picked out though, so what do you do?

love this outfit!!! it's soooo pretty!!!  i was wondering how do you pronounce baboo?  My husband has been calling our daughter something similar since she was born, he says it bay-boo.

Once again love this outfit!!!

Yup! That's pretty close.  I say "Bah-boo"  I don't really know where that nickname came from.  I think that when she was a teeny-tiny, she would respond to me when I called her that, and now that is one of the only things that I can call her, without her correcting me.

Ex.  mom-"Come over here, silly little pirate"
baboo - "No mommy, my name is Ava Rose (her real name)"

Thanks about the outfit, too.  She seems to like it.  I am just still trying to figure ths all out, and hoping I am dong a halfway decent job in the meantime!  She seems to be happy, and that's the point rght?

I think Baboo, and the dress, are adorable. My daughters ALWAYS loved matching accessories when they were little.
