There is a very good chance that I am a unicorn.

So The boy is doing band pratice all day, again (arg!) and I was inspired yesterday at the Indie Craft Experience, so I made this...

Randolph McFluffesen is a novelist and indian food and movie enthusaist. He writes crime dramas under the pseudonym "Jack Nantucket" and spends alot of time in bars. His favorite band is Journey but he normally lies and says somthing more artsy like the Decembrists or The Talking Heads when questioned.

He's made out of the collar of a horrid old sweater which sat in the back of my car for almost a year (that sweater had some stories. We called it the hooker sweater, pronounced HOOK-UH SWEAT-UH, it went to Rocky Horror and even helped us to clean indan food out of a hat, but I digress...) The lining of his ears is made from some super-awesome fabric I found at the city-wide clothing swap (a truly magical experience, well worth the 2 1/2 hours drive) and his eyes are vinyl.

That is an awesome monster!  I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley... but yet, I find him quite snuggleable.  Great job!

And please, tell me where you are that has a city-wide clothing swap?  Dare I hope it is LA?  I know you can drive for 2.5 hrs and still be in the same city....

I'm glad you like him. Actually it was in Atlanta, Georgia at the Indie Craft Experience. The whole thing was actually a big tent with HUGE piles of old clothes and fabric and whatnot. You pay 5 bucks for a big shopping bag and they let you go crazy. You can leave with as much as you can fit in your bag.

He's such a cute monster! I love that fun fur fabric. Is it hard to sew on?

It's not bad for sewing through at all, but it;s super fluffy which makes it super cumbersome.
