So this was a Mother's Day present for my mom (it took me forever to post)- I made miniature versions of the members of my family, with a couple of the shirts inspired by this tutorial:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=165311.0

I covered a box with decorative paper and then knitted a comforter and sewed teeny pillows for the bed, the chair was made by cutting a styrofoam cup in half horizontally and then taping the larger half to the bottom.

It's not really visible in the pictures, but there's also a demim rug that I used bleach on to add a lighter color in a square in the center, and the floor is textured brown paper meant to look like wood flooring. This is all set in a lovely shoe box, that already had that great circular pattern (thank you Target)!

Thank you all for the inspiration!

That's so cute! I love this idea!

I especially love the knitted purple rug. What kind of yarn is that?

I actually have absolutely no idea- sorry! I found it in the bottom of a closet in my house with no label.
