Hi There,

This is my very first post to the Craftster forums!
I have knit some items before, mostly scarves and mittens, and want to start on a summer project!
Is anyone working on the Tank Girl project recently posted on knitty.com by Vickie Howell?
Link to pattern with photo's: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer08/PATTtankgirl.html

Let me know if you'd like to work on it together.

I started it already using Alpandina yarn (a mix of acrylic and alpaca fibers, purchased in Peru on a recent trip to Machu Picchu) on size 7 straight needles. The gauge didn't match up. The gauge required by the pattern is 22 sts/28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette st. My gauge ended up being 20 sts/26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette st. I am just knitting the medium sized version (I am a size small top) and going to hope for the best!

Look forward to hearing from you!

J

Ooo, I do really like this pattern, except maybe with wider straps or I guess I could wear it over something too.

Especially considering my nickname since college when the movie came out that is apparent in my user name I should probably knit it...

Just want to say I'm a big doofus because I forgot my username.  In a lot of other places I use some kind of variation of tankgirl.  Forgot I hadn't here.  Doh.
