I was just uploading my pics to start this thread cause I was so surprised that it hadn't been started yet Smiley  you beat me while uploading, but I'll forgive ya Wink

this is merino and the roving was called Peacock.  I started with about 5 oz and ended up with 145 yards.

This is optim (stretched merino) called Grand Canyon.  Started with 4oz here and got about 76 yards

Another optim called Dove.  Started with 4 oz and got 102 yards.  This yarn was so exciting to me because it was the first time that I ever got 100+ yards out of 4 oz of fiber.  I can't even comprehend how you ladies get 200+yards of plied yarns from 4 oz or less.  You are my heros!

and lastly the Spunky Fiber of the Month for May (coopworth sliver called Nightshade)  There was 4 oz here but I didn't count the yardage yet.  I might try plying this with something else, it seems to scream "I need a little sparkle" to me Smiley

Oh, I'm so glad to see a Nightshade all spun, up. I'm dillegently working on mine but its taking forever!! Nothing to post this week because everything I'm spinning is for a swap. But my new Louet S10 arrived today and I'm begging my boss to let me out a little early so I can pick it up from the post office on my way home.

Here's my contribution for this week:

The first one I am NOT crazy about, but what the hell, I'll show it anyway.  It's thick and thin domestic and I WISH I had plied it with thread, but oh well...

The second one is spun VERY bulky.  It's 4 oz, domestic wool, and only about 50 yards:

This next one is 4 oz, about DK to Worsted weight, 176 yards, 100% Merino.  I LOVE the colors in this and only wished they photographed better:

The last is what's on the bobbin today.  It's a 85% Merino and 15% Tencel with bling.  It spins like a dream but is taking forever since I'm spinning it so skinny.  But I can't wait to finish two bobbins of it and ply it up.  It looks much prettier in person...ice lavender, deep plummy/midnight blue, and pink, with shimmer:

Wow, 'grand canyon' is gorgeous, what is the deal with this optim stuff? Sounds interesting, will have to look it up.

And boulderbliss, I actually love that first yarn, I'm a sucker for singles anyway, and the colours in this are so vibrant!

Well, I have two this week, but I can only post one, because one is for a swap, boooo!

Sorry the pictures are dark.  It started raining when I went to take pics last night so I had to do them inside!

This is from the first batt I carded up when I got my drum carder last month and I spun it up on my turkish drop spindle.

I'm getting a little better at my close up pictures, but they still aren't super clear.
