I just joined this forum and figured I should post a picture of a hat I finished a week or two ago.


(excuse my blank expression)

I made it out of Lionbrand Boucle in Sprinkles and the pom-poms are Sorbet.  I hadn't intended on adding the pom poms but it looked kinda plain w/o them. But I had run out of the Sprinkles and had some of the other color laying around, so I figured it'd add to the..eccentric look. What do you think?

that yarn color [sprinkles] really matches your skin tone! it looks fab on you!

i LOVE that hat!  i was thinking of making a poodle hat... in hot pink with puffy pink pom poms!  i really love the pom poms!

May I ask what pattern you used? and is that knit or crocheted?

I didn't use a pattern, I just kinda made it up as I went along.  I added the earflaps on afterwards, I just cast on like 15 sts and decreased by like 2 stitches every row.  Oh, and I knitted it.  And thanks! Smiley

Out of curiosity, how did you make the pompoms? Each time I make some, the strands always end up a bit loose, and if you pull on them a bit, they will come out....

Bibe, I feel your pain. I am the world's worst pom-pom maker. Once I thought I could make a really big one. There are two-inch bits of wool floating around my house. *sigh*
