As a part of my serious effort to reduce my scrap piles and as I was very much inspired by ironmaiden's recon (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=172837.0), I hath brought forth a patchwork circle dress for my monkey.

First time I've done any patchwork - I have new respect for quilters.  As for the circle skirt math in addition to the patchwork math, well, lets just say I'm glad I went to college.

(She's actually rolling her eyes at me and my attempt to get one decent photo - take comfort rozekitten, you're not the only one!)

(And those are apple tree blossoms on the ground - its smells absolutely divine in my backyard right now.

The back:

Which looks just like the front (but not) but its the only one I could get of her standing still.

But I got lots of actions shots:

Details: I know there are those who are interested in the fact that I gathered with elastic thread.  The bottom row on the circle was a whole 171" long so I wasn't going to fuss with the "baste two lines and pull threads, distribute evenly" (HA!)  The squares are 3".  Next time I will do 4" squares, to save myself a bit of headache.  And, the top portion is a modification of my halter top (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170079.0).  The bottom is just serged - no hem.  It seems to work out pretty good, considering the loosey goosey nature of the dress and I didn't want to cut my last row short.

Questions/comments welcome!
