ok, so after much months of discussing it, me and my honey are making wedding plans. We are most likely getting married in the early fall and I need some trendy fall colors for my theme. I finally decided on a country victorian theme.

any suggestions on colors?

Burgundy, cream and soft yellow were my colors when we thought we were doing fall.

Anything in the orange range...deep reds...gold...oh and a soft rose color. Isn't that victorian?

Good luck and let us know what you pick.

I'm Australian and was married this past Easter (in the fall here)
We used different shades of browns, golds, and woody flower arrangements
Here are some of my pictures

Those colors are so prettty! Did you wear red shoes?

A girl I knew in college got married in October '05 and had the maids wear red and carry baskets of red and orange flowers.  she had a head thingy (looked like a wreath on her head) of autum leaf colored flowers - orange red and yellow.  They had an awning thing of the same flowers, and the groomsmen wore red vests and ties.  Very pretty as that the trees had changed and just started to drop in TN so the Outdoor wedding had a Beautiful color scheme that matched the outside world.

thanks for all your suggestions! I am going with midnight blue and amber brown. I read in the bridal magazines that blue is in style, as is brown. Too bas it would be in bad taste to have an apple green and pink wedding in the fall....

thanks! I already started beading my veil. I will post pics as soon as it is done(i should have my new comp. by then). I got my inspiration froma midnight blue piece of cardstock and some amber beads I have had for a couple of years. (ykyacw......you look for wedding inspiration in your craft supplies!). Now I'm off to the library for some books on wedding crafts! I am thinking of using love knots as the base of the bouquets. I saw it in a book called "down the aisle country style", will be a great accent for our wedding in the little country church.....

When you say knots, are you talking macrame? would it kind of look like thoughs macrame little bags that hold perfume bottles, but it would hold your bouquets together? are you useing real flowers or fake? when i got married i went to micheals and got these flowers for my bouquet and they looked real and now i can keep it forever. I read alot of historical fiction books and the women are always doing some sort of embroidery projects, maybe you could use embriodered dolies in your colors for the centerpieces. If you town has any victorian museums you could go and get some decorating ideas from there.

a love knot is 3 big loops tied together. I am probably going to use fake flowers. Real ones are expensive in my area, and I dont have the dough to throw away on flowers. I am trying to stay in the neighborhood of 2 or 3 thousand dollars.

I want to use simplicity 4628 for my dress (it looks like this beautiful alfred angelo dress that I LOVE), then use simplicity 4323 as the jacket (view a). I got to buy a new dress pattern, though, because mine is cut to a 6, and I am an 8.

for table decor, I was thinking of getting some glitter and votive holders, rolling the votive holder in glue and glitter, then using brown candles. will the glitter and glue be okay with the heat from the votives?
