Hi all!  I need some help with the Knitty "Monica" pattern found here:  http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring07/PATTmonica.html

This is the second Monica that I'm knitting, the first I did as the pattern says...on straight needles...but this time I did circs. I am now finished with the body portion and need to transfer 53 stitches (of the total 106 on my circs, I'm making the smallest size) to a straight needle, making it able to be joined to the ruffle once that is knitted.  My question/problem is this:

1.  How do I put the straight needle into the stitches that are on the circs? I am assuming it is the same as I did before...oriented so the tip of the straight needle is facing right.  Yes?

2. I can't seem to slip the circ needle out once I place the straight needle into the 53 stitches.  HELP!

Just knit off the circs onto the straight needle. You can leave the other stitches on the circs as a stitch holder.

Thanks, Sue...that's what I ended up doing after I posted this...left 1/2 the stitches on the circs and put the other half on a straight needle 'holder'.
